ROKINON's Auto Focus System
Grows to Four

OKINON has introduced the 35mm F1.4 AF Full
Frame Wide Angle, the fourth in its series of
Auto Focus Full Frame lenses (14mm F2.8 AF, 35mm
F2.8 AF, 50mm F1.4 AF) specifically designed for Sony
E mount cameras.
Designed specifically for the unique rear element
to sensor distance of Sony E mount cameras,
and to deliver outstanding resolution, its optical
configuration of 11 elements in 9 groups utilizes
two Aspherical and two High-Refractive Index lens
elements, plus Ultra Multi Coating to minimize
aberrations and unnecessary light dispersion.
A new, quiet, fast, and precise IF (Internal
Focusing) autofocus system is employed for superior
focus detection that will capture any moment clearly.
The bright F1.4 maximum aperture takes the
stress out of working in difficult lighting conditions,

and provides shallow depth of field for
greater point of focus control, while
the circular 9-blade diaphragm
delivers pleasing bokeh at all
settings.
Additional features include a
durable all metal housing with a
user-friendly grip, a removable
and reversible for storage lens
hood, and full compatibility with
APS-C Sony E-mount cameras, where
it will provide an equivalent focal length
of approximately 52mm for a "normal"
angle of view.
First deliveries are scheduled for
November.

SmallHD Releases Upgrade OS3
S
mallHD has released OS3, a free Operating
System upgrade for its family of on-camera
and production monitors that offers new false color
and waveform tools, a new battery meter and more,
including computer-free integration of the SmallHD
Color Probe.
Placed in front of any current SmallHD monitor,
the Probe reads the test output on the screen to
check and correct its calibration. The SmallHD Color
Probe's USB cable plugs directly into the monitor's
USB jack and calibration is achieved in a few minutes.
The new operating system also showcases SmallHD's focus on updating its false color and waveform
exposure tools to make them much more customizable with 10 IRE ranges.
For those who prefer to use waveform to compose
an image, the new OS adds spot metering, which is

particularly good for exposing faces.
A new image gallery is included in OS3. It provides
the ability to quickly access and organize screen
captures and other images on an SD card by showing
a thumbnail preview of each image file. Images can
now be previewed with or without a video signal.
